When and why did you become part of this industry?
I decided to start my journey in this industry in 2018, after many years of working in Marketing I was ready for change and wanted to dive into a career where I could be creative with my hands. There is so much opportunity to continue to learn in this industry no matter how far you are in this career, there is always room for growth, which really sparks my curiosity and excitement to continue to learn and create.
What is your favourite hair to colour/cut?
Love a good dramatic makeover like cutting extremely long hair to a short pixie. Curls are also so much fun!
Tell us what inspires you.
Art, music, people, and the beauty of nature inspire me every day.
Fantasy dinner date?
Forage seafood on a coast and cook on shore. Wow, that would be amazing!
Ad lib time, what else do you want to tell the world?
Using the same words I did on my application:
I'm a creative, an artist, and always amazed and inspired by people and nature. I first began my career endeavors in Marketing and became skillful in Social Media Marketing, yet working creatively with my hands was my calling. Fast forward, and I am now a graduate of Ogle Cosmetology School and a licensed cosmetologist. My goal as a hairstylist is for my work to reflect what I am most inspired by- from punk culture to nature. I recognize with every great craft comes practice and an abundance of knowledge which is why I am so passionate about education and take classes when possible, even attending hair shows and events to keep me inspired.
To add to this, I would want potential clients to know that I am more than happy to give them the haircut of their dreams while keeping the integrity of their hair and lifestyle in mind. As someone who has been turned away at a salon for asking for a shaved side, I wouldn't want this for my potential clients, I really care that they get the haircut they want, that makes them feel more themselves.
I would like potential clients to know that I hope to give them new knowledge on hair products or new perceptions of hair that will inspire them to care for their hair and see new potential.
